The Galerie Martine Aboucaya is particularly proud to launch its gallery space and program with the first solo exhibition of Agnès Varda’s film and video installations. This exhibition showcases Agnès Varda’s new venture in video and cinema, which began in 2003 with the creation of Patatutopia for the exhibition « Utopia Station » at the 50th Venice Biennale.
Autobiography, political and poetic commitment, and the conception and practice of cinema and video installation as unique ways of informing the intelligibility of the real highlight this first exhibition of Agnes Varda’s work at the Galerie Martine Aboucaya. This inaugural exhibition reflects the gallery’s choice for highly personal, precise, bold and free artistic projects.
