Aphrodite is a short text-based film that describes the way past encounters impact the experience of the presence. The first person narrator finds himself at a beach on the island of Cyprus. The setting evokes memories of another beach, located in Spain, that he used to visit as a child, thousands of kilometres away. A sense of loss and longing lingers between the lines, yet at the same time, the newly discovered place seems to open a door to an internal realm, a kind of homecoming to one's own past.
